And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. (Luke 9:23)
How we follow Christ at Redemption
We believe that a true Christ-follower abides in Christ, connects to the church and shares with the world.
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:15–16)
Here are the 5 ways that a Christ follower makes the best use of the time
-
GOD TIME
We believe that a follower of Christ is someone who makes intentional time to pursue God daily. When we abide in Him, we grow into greater maturity and experience greater fruitfulness for the Lord. (John 15:5)
-
GATHER TIME
We believe that a follower of Christ is someone who loves to gather weekly to worship with the family of God. As the Sunday service is an essential grace of the Christian life, we gather to pray, sing, read the Scriptures and hear the Word of God preached. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
-
GROUP TIME
We believe that a follower of Christ is intended to live life in community with other believers. We desire that our people will devote themselves to consistent growth, mutual care, and accountability within a smaller group of believers. (Acts 2:42-47)
-
GIVE TIME
We believe that a follower of Christ is someone who gives themselves away for the glory of God. Christ followers use their talent, time, and treasure to see the kingdom of God advance with a heart of joy because the Lord loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
-
GO TIME
We believe that a follower of Christ is someone who is actively living out the Great Commission everyday. They are spending their time and energy to see the lost come to saving faith in Jesus Christ both locally and globally. (Matthew 28:18-20)
